6 Tips to Care and Tame Frizzy Hair

Some women are plagued with frizzy hair. You may find it happens after every time it gets wet, or just when you use certain chemicals. It can be difficult to tame the frizz, but here are some tips to help you do just that, along with protecting it from damage.

Pamper Your Hair

Grooming is essential when it comes to frizzy hair. You may find that it gets worse when it grows to a certain length or that certain products help to tame it better than others. Visit a hair dresser regularly to trim your hair and help to keep the frizz to a minimum. Use the products you know work to really care for and add nutrients back into your hair.

Add Oil to Your Scalp

Frizzy hair usually occurs because the hair is dry. While you want to limit the amount you wash your hair, you need to add the oils in somehow. You can do this through oil massages to the scalp. To avoid washing the oils straight out, do this on a night and use a shower cap to lock the oils in and give your hair the treatment it needs.

Use Deep Conditioners

Deep condition you hair on a regular basis. This will help to get into the roots and add more oils back into your hair to make it look luxurious. There are a variety of products on the market, and you will need to find the one that is best suited for your hair type and needs. Look at the ingredients to make sure there is nothing that you are allergic to or will cause skin irritation.

Make Your Own Conditioning Packs

If you’re not sure about the packs on the market, you could look at making your own. Egg whites are essential for this, but you can also add aloe vera and other types of natural herbs. Think about the scent that you want to have in your hair for the rest of the day and the properties that all the different herbs have to choose the right one for you.

Use a Hot Towel

After conditioning your hair, you will need a hot towel. This needs to be wrapped around your hair to lock in the nutrients and make sure they reach the roots all the way to the tips. It will also lock the nutrients into your pores, which is beneficial for long-term care.

Avoid Over-Washing Your Hair

Remember that frizz is caused by dry and damaged hair. You may think that washing it more will help you control the frizz, but that isn’t the case. You only need to shampoo your hair once or twice a week. The only other time to wash it is if you go swimming or other chemicals are added to your hair. Over-washing just leads to the oils being stripped out and you will find that the dryness and frizz gets worse. Look for shampoos designed for dry or fizzy hair.
