The summer is here and it is time to get into that bikini. Are you worried about showing off your figure? You may be worried about your size, especially if you are considered overweight. Here are some great tips to lose weight and feel confident about your body.

It’s really easy to start cutting out food groups and lowering your calories but this isn’t healthy – and it doesn’t work! The best tip for weight loss is to eat a balanced and healthy diet.

That means eating carbohydrates, proteins and even fat! Yes, fat! Your diet needs to be made up of about 10% in fat but choose the healthy types.

If you love bread and pasta, do a switch to the brown varieties. These will make you feel fuller and are healthier options for you.

Unlike the white varieties, these ones breakdown in your system slower, which means that less sugars are released into your bloodstream so you don’t get the sugar rush – or the health problems linked to that!

Fruit and veggies are full of carbohydrates and natural sugars, while remaining healthy snacks.

Not only do they have limited calories, they are full of water which is the perfect way to make sure you get enough fluids into your diet on a daily basis; have chopped carrots and celery sticks for a snack with some humus or salsa instead of potato chips and chocolate.

Between one and two pounds per week is perfect but you can go over that now and then. You will lose more weight to start with as you lose the water retention but after a couple of weeks it should even out on the lower side.

It takes time but it is much easier to keep off in the long term!
