Burn Body Fat After Christmas

Losing weight is one of the most common New Year resolutions. After Christmas, people start to feel like it is time for a change and time to start losing those pounds. It’s worth getting into the habit even before the New Year is here. With that in mind, burning body fat is a necessity and here are some tips to do just that.

Do More Cardio Workouts

Burning fat is more than just losing weight. You’re working on trimming the inches around your waist and toning the muscles. This requires more than just a healthy diet. You need to boost your cardio workout.

That doesn’t mean you have to do hours on the treadmill or bike every day—and you don’t need an expensive gym membership! Go out for a run in your park, or invest in a dancing workout DVD for the home.

Do Something You Love

The most important think for cardio workouts is that you enjoy them. When you love what you do, you will put more effort into it, want to do more, and see more results.

It makes it much easier for your workouts to become a simple part of your routine, and you’re not going to dread the thought as much when you get home from work.

Get Into the Habit

The hardest part is actually making your workout routine a habit. You can’t just done one session a week and expect to see the body fat drop. It needs to be a part of your everyday life, and on a consistent basis.

Yes, there will be days your body needs a rest, but five days a week should involve some sort of cardio workout, even if it is a swim!

Do Some Weight and Resistance Training

Cardio training isn’t everything. You need to work on toning the muscles, which will help to burn the fat. Add some weight and resistance training into your workouts.

These include press ups, sit ups and leg presses, but there are many more to think about. You need to push yourself but not too much, otherwise you risk injury.

Stop Worrying About Getting Bulky

There is a common misconception for women that doing weight training leads to getting bulky. This is definitely not the case. There isn’t as much testosterone in a woman’s body, which makes bulking muscles much harder.

Instead, the muscles will become toned and you will get the slimmer and healthier looking figure that you have always wanted.

Try to Combine Your Exercises

There are only so many hours in the day and you don’t want to spend the time in the gym or exercising.

Try to combine some of your exercises, so you do weight training at the same time as cardio workouts. You could also create a mini circuit that you do if that is easier.

Do a Little and Often

You don’t need to do a half hour workout in one sitting. Split it up into a series of 10 or 15 minute slots to do throughout the day.

It makes working out more manageable and you won’t realise just how easy it is.
