The Weekend Weight Loss Tips

You spend all week focusing on your weight loss, you just want a break at the weekend. However, this is when you’re likely to make the bad choices that have a negative impact on the good work you did during the week. While you want to let your hair down, you still need to make good choices. Here are some tips to help make your weekend good for weight loss.

Go for a Walk or Hike

Don’t sit around the house the whole weekend. Take a trip out somewhere, whether it is a walk around your local park or a hike in the wilderness.

There are many different options depending on your physical fitness levels and capabilities. This type of activity will stop you eating in front of the TV and give your body the exercise it needs.

Alternate Your Drinks

While you’re out with the girls, alternate your drinks between alcoholic ones and soft drinks. This not only helps your liver and overall healthy, but it also aids your weight loss.

Alcohol is full of empty calories, even if you do choose the spirits that are often better for you in calories. After each alcoholic drink, have a glass of water or a diet soft drink. You’ll enjoy being able to remember the majority of the night, too!

Make Your Own Takeaway

Ok, so you don’t really want to cook at the weekend, but you will find it benefits your weight loss. Making your own takeaway doesn’t need to be that difficult either; you could even have fun!

Try different curry spices and herbs, or enjoy using up those veggies that have been sitting in your fridge for a while. Most of the time they’ll be cheaper and take less time than your local curry house or Chinese.

Go for a Relaxing Swim

Swimming is a great form of exercise. While you probably won’t burn the same amount of calories as running, it’s a great way to relax and stretch your muscles.

The good thing is that it uses all the muscles in your body, so you get an easier overall workout. You can always push yourself with different swimming additions (like flippers and paddles) or through sprint sessions.

Get On the Dance Floor

You’re having fun talking to your friends and drinking the night away, but think about how you can get some more activity in. The dance floor is the perfect opportunity! If there’s a DJ in the club, request your favourite song and get your girlfriends up dancing.

They don’t want to join? That doesn’t mean you don’t have to go up there. People will love the fact that you’re enjoying the night—and in a soberer way.

Prepare Your Meals in Advance

Whatever you decide to have, focus on preparing your meals in advance.

You could do the cooking on the weekday evenings or on a Sunday when you have a bit more time. Just put them in the freezer and microwave them when you get home from all your activities.
