Treating A Mosquito Bite With Items Around The House

Even though fall is coming, the weather has started to turn wet, and with the rain comes a lot of mosquitoes. Mosquito bites can be very itchy, and sometimes there is nothing that can help the itch to stop. The more a mosquito bite is scratched, the bigger it will get. To help a mosquito stop itching, there are some items around the house that can shrink the bite and help it heal.

A cold wet green tea bag:

When a bug bite first happens, a cold wet green tea bag should be applied to the bite.

The cold will immediately stop the terrible itch, and the ingredients in the green tea are going to help reduce the swelling.

Honey:

Honey is a naturally occurring antibiotic, and dabbing a little honey onto a Band-Aid, and then covering the bite with it, is going to help it heal.

Banana peel:

The inside of a banana peel is known to be a great natural way to whiten teeth, but it can also help stop the itch and swelling of a mosquito bite.

Aloe vera:

Aloe vera can do wonders for the skin like relieving the pain and itch of a sunburn.

However, aloe vera gel can also stop the itch of a mosquito bite, and the anti-inflammatory properties in it can make the bite go away.

Meat tenderizer paste:

The bite of a mosquito, the sting of a beat, and the bite of a snake are all venoms that can damage the body because they are made of protein.

Meat tenderize is sprinkled on cuts of meat because the papain in it can make a meat tender.

The papain can also be effective against a mosquito bite if it is mixed with water and turned into a thick paste.

Rubbing alcohol:

Alcohol can stop the itch of a mosquito bite, but the problem with this natural remedy is that it can also burn.

The antiseptic in alcohol will help the bite to heal, but some people do not use it because of the fact it burns when first applied to the bite because of the open skin.

However, the burn will go away, and the bite will soon start to shrink and then heal completely. Another remedy that has alcohol in it is hand sanitizer, but again it too will burn the bite at first when applied.

Baking soda and water:

Adding water to baking soda to make a paste can be an effective treatment against bug bites. The ingredients in the baking soda will soothe the itch, and also draw the mosquito venom out of the bite.

Once the paste is applied, it will form over the bite like a shield, which will protect it as it heals.

Some people use toothpaste with baking soda on the mosquito bite, and then cover the bite with a Band-Aid that has a drop or two of the toothpaste on it.

After a few days, the Band-Aid can be removed, and by then the mosquito bite should be healed.
