6 Habits That Are Stopping You From Anything

Do you wonder why you never got past the interview stage for that job vacancy? Ever wonder why that guy didn’t ask for a second date? Chances are your habits are stopping you from accomplishing anything or meeting new people. Here are six habits that are a major turn off and you need to stop doing right now.

Twirling Your Hair

Twirling your hair is a major turn off for people. You look like the giggling school girl instead of the young professional woman you are.

It’s also bad for your hair! You’re going to make it greasier than it already is, and it starts to hang limp. Find something else to do with your hands when you get the need to start playing with your hair.

Biting Your Nails

That habit should not become biting your nails. This is another annoying and disgusting habit. Once you’ve bitten the nail, what do you do with it?

It either ends up on the floor or you swallow it—just think about how disgusting that is for other people. The sound also goes right through some, let alone the way your nails look afterwards.

Checking Your Phone Whenever Mildly Bored

How often do you check your Facebook, emails or the internet when you’re bored?

Now that smartphones are everywhere, people do it all the time. This is highly irritating for everyone. It shows you’re not interested in anything they have to say, and makes you look like a technology addict. It’s time to start up conversations again. Get to know more about your date, or discuss something interesting with your friends.

Constantly Hitting the Snooze Button

Nobody likes the morning. But what’s worse than that is someone constantly catching the snooze button. Once is understandable. Twice could be a mistake. Any more than that and it’s a nasty habit. If you really don’t want to get up when the alarm goes off, set the alarm later.

If you need to get up, put the alarm on the other side of the room so you have to get out of bed to turn it off. You’re waking up everyone else in the house with your annoying trait.

Leaving Shoes or Clothes Around

How often do you put your shoes back on the shoe rack or your clothes in the drawers?

If you find yourself admitting to very little, you’re doing one thing that many people hate. It’s not that hard to open drawers and put things away. Putting the shoes on a rack is even easier! When they’re lying around, nobody can find anything and everyone trips over them.

Talking Over Someone

Wait for someone to finish their conversation. There are times that you will misjudge they have finished, but when you realise politely stop and let them continue.

Talking over someone shows that you’re not really interested in what they have to say. If you do it all the time, people will stop bothering talking to you.
