Kick the Lazy Habit and Enjoy Your Life

Are you lazy? You may not think so at first but think about your life really. This isn’t about whether you’d rather sit and watch TV than go for a run—most people prefer the form—it’s about your actions. Do you do what you prefer? If you do it often, you may find that you are actually quite lazy. Here are some tips to kick that lazy habit and really enjoy your life.

Face It: You’re Lazy

Don’t live in denial. Accept the fact that you are lazy right now. By accepting that you are, you can start making changes so that you kick the habit.

If you don’t accept it, you’ll just live in denial and never be completely happy. Is that something that you really want to happen?

Write Out the Things You Need to Do

To do lists are a great way to kick that lazy habit. They show you just how much you need to do and how much you procrastinate during the day.

You may think you’re just having a rest or doing something useful but it’s not helping you! As you get better at kicking the lazy habit, you’ll find that your list is finished quicker and that you get through much more each day.

Make Your To Do List Achievable

Don’t worry about not getting through everything at first. It takes time to get into a routine and kick the bad habits. However, help yourself by making your to do lists achievable.

Don’t tell yourself that you will redecorate the whole house in a day. That takes weeks of planning, preparation and work. If you don’t do something on one day, move it over to the next but place it at the top of the new list!

Get Up Earlier in the Morning

Stop sleeping in! If you get up earlier, you’ll have more of the day to do things. Sure, it may be getting dark outside on a morning but that doesn’t mean it’s not the perfect time to do things around the house.

The more you get done before work or the kids get up, the less you will have to do at night when you just want to relax.

Increase Your Energy with Exercise

One of the most common excuses is “I’m too tired”. The reason you’re tired is because you’re not actually doing anything.

Your brain doesn’t get to release all the chemicals it needs and your blood doesn’t pump around your body quick enough, so the oxygen doesn’t get all the way around.

Do some exercise, even if it is just a walk in the park. You’ll be amazed at how much better you feel.

Assess This New You

Once you’ve been at it a while, look back over your life and assess the new you. How much better do you feel in yourself?

How much more do you get done? This is a positive change and can only lead to positive things happening in your life.
