You want to make your life easier, but did you know that that could come from other people. You could also help make someone else’s life easier through your own actions. It seems like a strange concept at first, but here are some methods to make lives easier for others and see a return for yourself.
Sometimes all people need is a boost to their self-esteem and you can directly help with this. There are a few ways to do this but the most effective is by giving compliments.
Even if you don’t know someone, a compliment about the way they wear their hair or the jacket they wear can really help to give their self-esteem a boost. It doesn’t have to be about the way they look either. It could be in something they’re doing.
Everybody has dreams. As long as they’re not something completely impossible—like flying to Jupiter—it is worth encouraging them to reach their dreams.
It doesn’t matter how silly it seems to you personally, this is their dream. It could be to become a rock star or they may want to become a famous novelist one day. Sometimes all they need is to hear that they can do it from someone close to them.
Remaining patient with someone is sometimes the hardest thing to do.
You can spend hours trying to explain a math equation to a child or need to wait until just the right time to offer your help to a friend in need. Whatever it is, keep your cool and you will help to keep their life a little less stressful. It will also come back to you as they realise just how much of a good friend or parent you are.
When you’re out shopping or eating at a restaurant, think about your manners. While the people there are being paid for their job, they don’t deserve to be on the receiving end of your anger. Just because you’re having a bad day, doesn’t mean they need to hear all about it.
Be kind to them for taking the time to serve you and thank them for doing their job. They may be paid for it, but they could quite easily quit or refuse to serve you because of your attitude.
A smile goes a long way. Think about it from experience. How hard is it to be angry at someone who is smiling and happy?
It’s often very hard. By having a smile on your face, you will help someone who is in a bad mood see that there is joy in the day. Even if they are laughing at your goofy grin, they’ve forgotten all about the stresses of their own day. They’ll find it much harder to feel unhappy or angry, and may even forget about what their problem originally was.
