Why It Is Time to Leave Your Current Job

You know in the back of your mind that you want to leave your current job. The problem is you’re scared it’s the wrong move, especially if you don’t have another lined up. Even if you do have another lined up, in the back of your mind you may wonder if this is the best thing for your career. There are certain times that now is the perfect time to leave.

You Hate the Workplace

While many people hate the idea of going to work, they know that once they’re there they will have fun. However, a handful of people really hate their workplace.

It could be a boss or manager who makes everyone’s lives a living hell, or you just may not get along with anybody within the office. If you dread waking up each morning knowing that you have to go back there, it is likely time to leave.

You’re Too Comfortable There

It is possible to get too comfortable there. By that, it means you’re happy with not advancing because you really like being there. Not advancing is a bad thing.

You may have even taken a job just temporarily, and the time has flown by and it’s now years that you’ve been in that “transition” job. It’s time to look for something new and get yourself out of the workplace.

There Is No Career Advancement

Remember that not advancing is a bad thing. You don’t want to be stuck in a dead-end job. You won’t put the effort in, and you won’t feel any value from it.

If you find that there is no opportunity to advance in your career, it is time to start looking for another career or at least an advancement in your current career.

Your Talents Aren’t Recognised

All that hard work and dedication that you’re putting into your work just isn’t being recognised. You’re being overlooked for promotions and you just don’t feel like a valued member of the team.

This could be a clear sign that it is time to leave your current job and start to look for something else. There are employers who will praise you for your hard work and thank you for the time and dedication you put into their company.

It’s Too Immature

Yes, there are some jobs that will be too immature for you. These usually start off as Saturday jobs when you were in school, and you just haven’t managed to get out of them all this time.

These jobs are no longer thrilling or exciting anymore. There is nothing wrong with admitting this, as long as you’re willing to do something about it.

This Isn’t the Career for You

Sometimes you need to be in a career to determine whether it is the right one for you. There are people leaving six figure salaries because the career just isn’t something they enjoy.

You need to be happy within your role and in what you do. If you’re not, you will resent yourself in the future.
