6 Tips to Slim for Your Upcoming Vacation

You may be looking for some last minute winter sun, or you may want to get ready for your spring vacation. Whatever the reason, you want a figure of your dreams. It’s not too late to start now and here are some tips to help you slim down and tone up.

Drink More Water

When the body doesn’t get enough water, it will start to retain it. It needs to do this to make sure it doesn’t dehydrate. This just ends up with bloating and weight gain. Instead of letting this happen, keep drinking water. This will also help to flush out the toxins and prevent you from overeating!

Get More Active

Add more activity in your day. It doesn’t have to be an hour long workout at the gym. You could do a 30 minute dance class, or start running up and down the stairs in your house.

Just boosting your activity by five minutes each day will help you burn more calories than you once were and the gradual build up will be less noticeable than suddenly doing 30 to 60 minutes of activity every hour.

Do Something You Love

When you are doing activity, make sure it is something that you love to do. If you don’t enjoy it, you won’t stick with it for as long. You won’t put the effort in either.

If you’re not a fan of running, don’t force yourself to like it. Go swimming instead or pick up a sport that you’ve always enjoyed. You’ll soon feel and see the benefits for it all.

Split Up Your Activity

You may struggle to do an hour of activity in one go. It all depends on your current lifestyle and schedule.

You don’t need to do it all at once though. Splitting it up throughout the day soon adds up by the end, and you’ll hardly realise just how much you’re doing. You will also find that you enjoy the shorter bursts too, so you’re more likely to stick with it.

Set Your Goals

You need some goals to work towards. Don’t focus on that big goal of getting slim for your holiday. Focus on attainable, small and targeted goals. Weekly ones are great and they don’t just need to be about a number on the scales.

Focus on numbers on the tape measure around your waist or the amount of exercise that you get into your day. As you reach the goals, you’ll feel more determined to reach them the next week.

Don’t Restrict Yourself Too Much

You can eat chocolate. Wait, what? Yes, you really can have chocolate and lose weight. You can have the carbs and enjoy a piece of cake. The trick is to eat it all in moderation.

If you restrict yourself, you’ll find that you crave that thing more and more and then go completely overboard, ruining all the hard work. Say yes now and then, but focus on a healthy eating plan 70% of the time.
