6 Tips to be a Better Morning Person

Wouldn’t you love to be better at waking up on a morning? There are so many benefits, including having more daylight hours to yourself (especially in the summer). So, here are a few tips to make it easier to get up in a morning and be in a good mood.

It seems obvious but this is the first and best step to getting up earlier. Your body needs between six and eight hours of sleep on average. If you go to bed late, you’re more likely to get up late because your body needs to catch up.

It can take a while to get used to falling asleep earlier, so try cutting down on the caffeine and just go to bed five minutes earlier each night until you’re at a time that works for you.

If you don’t have a reason to actually get out of bed, what stops you from rolling over and snoozing? Give yourself a reason to get up earlier.

The next time you book your doctor’s appointment or plan a trip with a friend, arrange them for earlier in the morning. You will be forced to get out of bed, and you will soon find it much easier to make that your normal time.

Chances are you have an alarm clock to wake you up. Make sure it is out of arms reach.

You could try on the other side of the room or in the hallway if you can still hear it. This makes you get out of bed, so you’re less likely to just roll over and go to sleep.

One of the best things to do on a morning is exercise. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn’t make you fall asleep. A burst of exercise on a morning will help to release adrenaline, so you feel more awake.

You will have the energy for the rest of the day. It doesn’t have to be much. Just 10 minutes of jumping on the spot will help.

Don’t slowly push back the covers and wish that you could have a few more minutes. You are more likely to stay in bed and go back to sleep for a bit. Instead, jump out of your bed.

You will be ready to start another day. Jump straight into doing your exercise and you will have the energy for the day.

Sometimes it is the quality of sleep that affects you on a morning. It is important to get a good night’s sleep every night. This involves making your bedroom a place for relaxation and quiet.

Avoid doing anything in the room except sleep. Try to avoid warm baths before going to bed, as they raise your body temperature and heart rate, which doesn’t help you fall asleep on a night.
